Enugu APC Crisis: We Are Ready For Peace - Ude Affirms

A member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Mr. A.C Ude has given a hint that his group was ready for peace.
NAIJA VOICE reports that the State chairman of the party, Barr. Ben Nwoye had recently extended olive branch to members of the party who are in one way or the other fighting against his leadership.
This was also re-echoed by members of the party at an expanded State Executive Council meeting held recently in Enugu.
Ude, the pioneer Deputy chairman of the party in the State, described the peace move as a welcome development.
He, however, stressed that he was not invited to the meeting, noting that he would attend when the Minister of foreign affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, whom he described as the leader of the party in the state, “convenes a common meeting for both factions of the party.”
He expressed hope that such a meeting will be convened sooner or later by the foreign affairs minister, where they will all “sit face to face with others”, stressing that “that is really when the peace talks to ginger unity in the party will commence.”
Nwoye had at the meeting said that for the party to move forward, he had forgiven anyone who offended him, even as he asked those he may have offended in one way or the other to also forgive him and join hands in moving the party forward.
“We must drop our egos and focus on winning elections. In the interest of the party, I tender unreserved apology to those I may have offended by my words and actions.
“By the same token, I have forgiven those who offended me their conducts. These include those who filed false cases against me in the DSS, EFCC, courts, among others”, he had said.
Meanwhile, Ude who also spoke on the recent invitation of Mr. Felix Okafor, an APC chieftain in the state by the DSS, said neither the foreign affairs minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama nor himself had anything to do with the invitation.
He maintained that Okafor was invited following a petition by a member of the party, over some comments he (Okafor) allegedly made against President Muhammadu Buhari during a radio programme.
While insisting that the petition did not emanate through him, he said “when one is insulting the presidency, the person is equally challenging the DSS.
“The DSS being the agent of the presidency don’t even need a petition to do their job.”
