Nigeria Fuel Scarcity: NNPC MD, Baru And Custom Boss, Ali Meet
Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Maikanti Baru on Friday visited Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd) to end smuggling of petroleum products.
The meeting was held to discuss increasing rate of smuggling of petrol from Nigeria to neighbouring countries.
Maikanti Baru in a statement said they discussed ways to fight petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries.
The statement read “Petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries has been inimical to the efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide
“The existence of arbitrage opportunities in neighbouring countries has pushed daily National consumption from less than 35million litres per day to over 55million litres per day.
“During the recent PMS supply challenge, we observed that unpatriotic marketers are exploiting both land & coastal borders to smuggle out petr. products meant for the Nign mkt to other W/African countries due to sheer greed & lack of patriotism
“Inter-Agency collaboration against hoarding, diversion, smuggling and illegal price hike in ex-depot or retail pump price has become increasingly necessary in order to safeguard Nigeria’s Energy Security
“NNPC is concerned that continued cross-border smuggling of petroleum products will deny Nigerians the benefit of the FG’s benevolence of keeping a fixed retail price of N145/litre despite the increase in PMS open market price above N171/ltr
“Petroleum products diversion and cross-border smuggling to neighbouring countries constitutes serious threat to our economic stability and National Energy Security.
“Inter-Agency collaboration against hoarding, diversion, smuggling and illegal price hike in ex-depot or retail pump price has become increasingly necessary in order to safeguard Nigeria’s Energy Security.”

How Area Fada Charley Boy Became Born Again In Christ Embassy

BREAKING NEWS

How Area Fada Charley Boy Became Born Again In Christ Embassy
Nigerian Entertainer Charles Oputa fondly called Charley Boy seems to have surrendered his life to Christ.
According to a post shared on Facebook by a group that is being run by Christ Embassy, and some images that just surface on the internet, the singer gave his life to Christ when he visited a branch of the church in Abuja last Sunday, February 25th.
The post read;
In a scenario which could only have been divinely orchestrated, the renowned unconventional musician, entertainer, social activist, and leader of the ‘Our mumu don do’ movement, Charley Boy, is gloriously led to Christ by the highly esteemed Regional Pastor, Christ Embassy Abuja, Reverend Tom Amenkhienan.
Having been invited to church several weeks earlier by a dear sister who met and engaged him on social media, Charley Boy promised that he will come to church. With persistent reminders and follow up, on Sunday, 25th February, he arrived Abuja from a journey and came straight to church from the airport with twelve members of his activist group.
He returned for an exclusive meeting with Reverend Tom on Tuesday 27th February, in the company of some members of his group. Overwhelmed by the expression of Christ’s love, he appreciated our man of God, Reverend Dr. Chris Oyakhilome for his passion for Youth Development and Nation Building, as Reverend Tom highlighted the impact of the InnerCity Mission, Future Africa Leaders’ Foundation, Campus Ministry, Global Youth Leaders’ Forum and ReachOut Nigeria Campaign.
As an activist, Charley Boy constantly demands social and political changes and accountability in governance in Nigeria. He identifies with, and advocates for the rights of the youth and the ‘common man’ in his usual unconventional style. He is indeed deeply passionate about this cause and spoke of it with tears in his eyes, hence his joy when he discovered the passion of our man of God, Pastor Chris for the youth, and the lasting impact is made. It opened his eyes to new and more effective ways to channel his passion.
Reverend Tom then ministered to him privately, and he gloriously accepted Christ and was born again. In his new found joy, he requested that Reverend Tom also prays for his group members. He beamed with smiles as Reverend Tom announced to them, ‘CHARLY BOY IS BORN AGAIN!’ The news was received with joy and excitement, and Reverend Tom also went ahead to lead members of his group to Christ. He also gave them our ministry materials and presented Charley Boy with a LoveWorld Plus decoder for his home.

What a glaring sign that our prayers have been answered! The Lord is doing great wonders in our midst. There is no limit to the length of the Master’s love…it can reach the farthest soul, even those perceived as ‘unreachable’. It is certainly the month of CHANGE! Glory to God!?

Court Rejects Dasuki Freedom Bid

The Supreme Court has rejected the bid by detained former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, seeking his release from custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Dasuki had filed the appeal challebging his continued detention by the secret police.

The former NSA also prayed that the apex court suspends his trial pending his release.
However, the apex court dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.

In a unanimous judgment of a five-man panel read by Justice Ejembi Eko, the apex court held that Dasuki’s continued detention was not a violation of any order.

The court said Dasuki’s detention was not at the instance of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that put him on trial.

It further said the bail granted Dasuki in respect of criminal charges brought against him by EFCC have been obeyed having been implemented by the Comptroller of Prison on December 29, 2015.

Nigerian Cleric Urges Lawmakers To Criminalize Ethnic And Tribal Sentiment

BREAKING NEWS

Nigerian Cleric Urges Lawmakers To Criminalize Ethnic And Tribal Sentiment

The General Overseer of Hour of Mercy Prayer Ministries Worldwide. (Ori oke Alaseyori) Prophet Moses Muyideen Kasali, has urged the National Assembly to enact a law outlawing and criminalising ethnicity and tribal identity in the country.

Kasali said that law abolishing ethnic and tribal sentiments and affiliations, would make the dream of a united and prosperous Nigeria realisable.

The cleric, who spoke on the occasion of his birthday celebration at the church’s headquarters in Ori Oke Alaseyori, Ibadan, Oyo State, said winning the war against tribalism was a necessary condition to tackle the twin challenges of hunger and insecurity confronting the country.

Kasali advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to step up efforts to ensure the return of the 110 school girls abducted in Dapchi, Yobe State and as well get to the root of the recent cases of corruption springing up in the country if the administration is to be taken seriously.

According to him, the country does not need elaborate restructuring other than to simply abolish all tendencies making citizens define themselves on the basis of tribes as Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Tiv, Ijaw etc, but to identify themselves as Nigerians.

Kasali said: “I want to advise our lawmakers at the National Assembly to do something. I once asked from God what really is wrong with us in Nigeria that we are having these challenges of insecurity, backwardness and scarcity of all good things. The Lord answered and said we have been the cause of these problems.

“Again, l asked Him how have we been the cause of our problems and the Lord sai d that In Nigeria, we identify ourselves first with our tribes but that what should be more paramount to us in identifying our selves should be the fact that we are all Nigerians.

“We must abolish all acts that prioritize our tribal differences over and above the fact that we are all Nigerians. This is why I want to advise our lawmakers that the only restructuring they can assist us with is to make a law that would abolish tribal identity and that anyone who identifies himself or herself as coming any tribe should be punished.

“If we can just get rid of seeing ourselves as coming from a tribe first before being a Nigeria, our problems, particularly security and sociopolitical ones, would be solved. Do you know why Ghana has solved many of its problems? When you see a Ghanaian, he identifies himself first as a Ghanaian before you know what tribe of that country he belongs. They have perish tribal identity.

“But here in Nigeria, we like to always identify and introduce ourselves as coming from the Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani or Hausa or Kanuri first before realising the fact that we are all Nigerians.

“If we can’t solve the problem of tribal differences, we can’t solve security issues. The insurgency challenge arises from our tribal differences and the way we have become too conscious of this.

Abolish all forms of regional differences, dividing Nigeria along geo political zones and stop seeing yourselves first as Yoruba, Tiv, Fulani or coming from any tribe. Let us promote the fact that we are all Nigerians. We must identify ourselves as one Nigeria and all our security problems will be solved once and for all.

“When we have been able to solve the challenge of tribal differences leading to solving security issues, we would then have agricultural produce in abundance as we would no longer have security issues such as herdsmen menace, cattle rustling and Boko Haram among others,” the cleric said.
