FG will no longer do business with AMCON debtors - Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said the Federal Government will deal decisively with individuals and organisations that made the list of high-profile obligors of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

He said they have made it impossible for the corporation to resolve its outstanding N5trillion debt thereby holding the entire nation to ransom with their bad behaviour.

A statement from AMCON also said Prof. Osinbajo who is the Chairman of the Economic Council disclosed plans by government to set up an inter-agency collaboration framework that would comprise relevant government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and supervised by the office of the Vice President to ensure that institutions and individuals that are indebted to AMCON are not allowed to do business with government henceforth.

The Vice President who spoke at the weekend when he received some Board members and Management of AMCON at the State House, Abuja led by the Board Chairman, Muiz Banire, SAN said the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, will no longer fold its hands and allow a few individuals that owe AMCON huge sums of money walk freely on the streets in the country.

He said, “I think the time has come for us (Federal Government) to set some examples with some of these top debtors of AMCON, which I believe will set a good example and serve as deterrent to others.”

Prof. Osinbajo who said he was impressed with the performance of the executive management of AMCON under the leadership of Ahmed Lawan Kuru for the recovery successes that have been achieved so far against all odds, also promised that the Federal Government would give AMCON whatever support that is necessary to enable them go after the obligors that have remained recalcitrant”.

He said, “I congratulate AMCON for the work done so far having recovered over N1trillion and counting both in cash and in assets. The work you do as a recovery agency is not something that is particularly easy or encouraging because we all know how Nigeria works. But we are committed to working more closely with your administration to ensure that these monies are recovered from AMCON obligors because it will help our economy and provide the government with more money to continue to improve on the development of infrastructure across the nation.”

Vice President, Osibanjo's Mother Reveals Why She Married His Father

BREAKING NEWS

Vice President, Osibanjo's Mother Reveals Why She Married His Father

Olubisi Osinbajo, eighty-five year old mother of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has revealed why she married the Vice President’s father.
According to him, Mr. Osinbajo Sr. was not like young men of these days.
She said she married him because he was disciplined, serious and at the same time focused, adding that her parents were happy the first time they saw him.
She said she married a man who was 14 years older than her.
According her, they met when the man came visiting her sister’s husband and from there, the relationship grew into marriage.
She told Punch, “I met him when I was very young; I was still living with my sister then. He was a friend to my sister’s husband . I regarded him as an elderly person because he was 14 years older than me.
“After his training in the UK, he came to look for somebody else at the girls’ school where I taught. I saw him in the entrance hall and I greeted him.
“He expressed surprise at knowing I also worked in the school. I went to inform the person (Miss. Adegunle) he came to see that she had a visitor.
“Meanwhile , Miss Adegunle already had a boyfriend . I never saw him as a boyfriend because he was much older than I was. Three weeks later, he visited me in the school . He talked to me and he was very serious about it.
“I told my parents about it and they sanctioned the union because he was a much disciplined man; he is not like the men of nowadays . My father was pleased about it, but in the place where I come from, Ejigbo in Osun State, they didn’t like getting married to Ijebu people. However, my mum was from Ilaro in Ogun State.
“We eventually got married and we were together till he passed on in 1996 . He loved me and I loved him. I used to cook about five different dishes per meal for him. He was very pleased with me , and I was with him as well.
“After we got married, he told me to stop working and focus on training the children . We were just managing, seeking and worshipping God. We brought up all our children in the way of God and we trained them to be humble . By the grace of God, they (children ) did everything that we told them to do.”

'Buhari Has Lost His Integrity And Aso Rock Juju Has Turned Osibanjo Into A Devil" Adebanjo
Elder statesman, Ayo Adebanjo, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has lost his integrity.
He also claimed that the ‘juju at Aso Rock has turned Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo into worst devil.’
He advised the Vice President to step down in solidarity with Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s struggle for true federalism.
Asked if some corruption scandals in current administration has stained the reputation of integrity with which Buhari campaigned for president in 2015 and won, Adebanjo told Punch that the President’s integrity is was already gone.
According to him, His [Buhari’s] integrity is gone. He should know that, except those who are still ‘chopping’ (eating) under his government. All those who thought he had integrity have seen that none of it is there.
“When a man who has integrity authorises his AGF to go and meet a criminal in a strange land and then reinstates that criminal? It’s a pity.”
Speaking on Osinbajo, he added, “Don’t mind that one. I have told him to remember the son of who he is. His father and I were the followers of (Chief Obafemi) Awolowo on federalism.
“He was born in federalism. And when he was the Attorney General in Lagos, he took Obasanjo to court over local government allocation that was depriving Lagos. He won the case up to the Supreme Court. Now, he is the Vice -President.
“It just reminds me of what Reuben Abati wrote that there is something wrong; the moment some people get to Aso Rock, there is a juju there that turns the good people among them into the worst devils.
“He should have resigned. I say that without any hesitation. The Vice – President — I know him from his youth — highly intelligent and highly qualified.
“A professor who is very sound. He has a job of his own. He is not jobless Why shouldn’t he resign? He went there with the thought to serve, maybe thinking of the West that, if there are any excesses of the President, he would be able to check it.
“No! He was brought into wealth and he was silenced because of office. So, the Vice – President has no excuse. Tinubu has no excuse, particularly the Vice – President, who is a professional in his own right. He knows about all these ills. He has fought against them before. All these things are going on and you are seeing it?”
