Boko Haram: What Borno residents need – Omokri counters Buhari
Reno Omokri, former
aide to ex-president Goodluck has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s
response to Boko
Haram suicide bombings in Mandarari community in Borno State.
Buhari
on Monday night expressed sadness over the attack and sent his condolences
to victims of the Borno attack.
The president wrote
“I commiserate with the families of the victims of yesterday’s Viewing Center
bomb blasts in Mandarari, Konduga LGA of Borno State.
“My deepest
condolences to all those affected.”
But, Omokri on his
Twitter page condemned the President’s reaction, noting that residents of Borno
do not need condolences but ‘Action’ against Boko Haram insurgents in the
state.
The former
presidential spokesman wrote: “Dear General Buhari, Borno people do not need
COMMISERATION. They need ACTION.
“Last month, you
went to Qatar to lie that Boko Haram were defeated.
“These are people
that could have helped us defeat Boko Haram. But you LIED to look good to
them.”
Meanwhile, Borno
State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirming the attack on Monday, said
30 persons lost their lives while 42 others were injured when
three suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers detonated Improvised Explosive
Device (IED) in Mandarari community of Konduga local government area.
On Friday, the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation took over the case of alleged N25 billion fraud filed against Former Gombe State Governor, Senator Danjuma Goje from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Reacting to the new development, Reno Omokri says, 'Danjuma Goje withdraws from the Senate President's race in favour of Buhari 's anointed candidate, Farouk Lawan, and the next day the EFCC withdraws from his corruption case. I like the way Buhari fights corruption!'..
Jonathan’s ex-aide, Omokri
under fire for saying Buhari for Muslims, Osinbajo for Christians
Nigerians have come
hard on Reno Omokri, a former News Media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan
for allegedly working tirelessly to divide Nigeria along religious lines.
Youths who attacked
Omokri on Twitter said he was trying to ignite a civil war in Nigeria while
living in California with his family.
Omokri had written
on his official Twitter page that President Muhammadu Buhari is for the Muslims
while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was for Christians.
The comment sparked
an outrage as he was accused of trying to turn the country’s dominant religions
against each other.
Omokri had also
claimed that President Buhari made efforts for the release of Zainab Aliyu, who
was wrongly accused to have transported Tramadol to Saudi Arabia, because she
was a Muslim while Leah Sharibu, a Christian who was abducted by Boko Haram
terrorists, was still in captivity.
Reacting to his
claims, James Sunday Akinloye said Omokri was suffering from a self-induced
post election traumatic stress disorder and that he needs to see a doctor.
He tweeted, “I must
tell you that those who listen and follow Omokri are merely doing so to be
entertained. We know Mr. Omokri don’t mean well for Nigeria. He only wants to
ruffle things up so that the unsuspecting can ignite a violence in our country.
“He has forgotten
so quickly that over 200 school girls were abducted during the Jonathan
government and it took Buhari/Osinbajo to reunite most of them with their
families.
He added that Mr.
Omokri’s attempt to draw comparison between legitimate government and a
terrorist sect was baseless to say the least. He urged Nigerians to steer clear
of Omokri and his ilk.
Also reacting on
Twitter, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who is the Senior Special Adviser to the
President on Foreign Relations and Diaspora, said it’s not true that the
Federal Government wasn’t working to have Leah Sharibu released.
“Leah’s case is
different. She is held captive by terrorists. The Buhari administration is not
leaving any stone unturned to get her back. We are optimistic she will return,”
she said.
Similarly, another
Twitter user, Bernard Okri, pointed out that both the President and Vice
President do not represent the interest of any religious groups as they were
both elected by Muslims and Christians.
“It’s petty that
Mr. Omokri is trying to draw a religious divide in Nigeria just because he
wants the country to burn. Nigerians should be weary of him and those who
reside in the United States but are strategising to make Nigeria burn,” he
said.
He also shamed
Omokri for trying to draw Kiki Osinbajo, the daughter of the Vice President
into the matter. “Mr. Omokri claims that he wants Ms. Sharibu rescued are lies.
He takes pictures and brandishes the good life he is living but will never
return to Nigeria to help free Leah Sharibu.”
Reno Omokri mocks Buhari over
comments on IGP, reveals why APC refused Ambode Guber ticket
Reno Omokri,
former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has mocked President Muhammadu
Buhari’s comments about the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
He also revealed why the All Progressives Congress (APC) refused Lagos
State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode ticket for second tenure.
Buhari was asked about security challenges across Nigeria and if there
would be a different approach in tackling the issue after his arrival from his
10-day private visit to the United Kingdom.
“I have just seen the IG, I think he’s losing weight, so I think he is
working very hard,” the president replied.
Reacting, in a tweet on Monday, Omokri said: “Chief of Army Staff,
Buratai, must not be working, since he is not losing weight. I now see why
@MBuhari supported the skeletal Oshiomhole as @OfficialAPCNg Chairman.
“No wonder APC did not give its ticket to @AkinwunmiAmbode. His fatness
showed that he is not working #RenosDarts.”
Omokri Reveals Why Ali Modu Is Dumping PDP For APC
Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-president Goodluck
Jonathan has revealed why the former caretaker committee Chairman of the
opposition Peoples Democratic Party is defecting to the All Progressives
Congress,APC.
Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, is
expected to rejoin the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) today.
Omokri in reaction on his Twitter page said Sheriff
is defecting to APC in order not to be added to the looter’s list.
The former presidential spokesman wrote, “I congratulate
former unwanted factional chairman of PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff, on his return to
his natural habitat, APC. Sheriff is wise.
“With allegations against him and as soon to be
released looters list round the corner, he has carried the broom so his problems
will passover!
Recall that the Minister of Information,
Lai Mohammed had said the federal government is compiling
fresh names of people alleged to have looted the nation’s treasury.
The Nigerian Government had already released two
lists comprising mostly members of main opposition Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP.
Omokri Blasts Buhari For Appointing Amaechi His Campaign DG
Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has alleged
that Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation may use his position to fund
President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.
He said this while reacting to the appointment of the former Rivers State
Governor as the Director General, DG, of Buhari’s re-election campaign.
Confirmation
of Amaechi as campaign DG came to the fore in a statement issued on Tuesday
by the Secretary of the campaign organisation, Mohammed Dattijo. He equally
announced the appointment of Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, as the official spokesman
of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.
However, Omokri wondered why Amaechi has not resigned as a Minister,
following his appointment as campaign DG.
In a tweet, on Tuesday, the former presidential aide maintained that
combining the two portfolios would amount to conflict of interest for Amaechi.
The tweet reads, “How can @ChibuikeAmaechi be DG of the @MBuhari
Reelection campaign as @MobilePunch reports and still retain his portfolio as
minister of transport?
“Is that not a conflict of interest? Would it not present opportunity for
Amaechi to use ministry funds for Buhari’s reelection?”
