Commotion In Kaduna As Gunmen Kill An FRSC Officer, Abduct A Mother And Child
According to a report by The Nation, some unknown gunmen yesterday in Kaduna abducted the wife and child of a Voice of America (VOA) reporter.
The abductors killed an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), who attempted to help the victims.
The reporter, Malam Nasir Birnin-Yero, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that about 30 men attacked his residence in Birnin Yero, near Kaduna at about 1:30 am.
“They came to my house at about 1:30 am. I was not at home. They forced themselves into my house and asked my wife of my whereabouts and she told them I was not at home.

“The kidnappers have not made any contact yet,” Birnin-Yero said
Kaduna State FRSC Sector Commander Umar Ibrahim confirmed the death of the corps personnel.
Ibrahim described the deceased as a very hard working person, who was also a member of the community’s vigilante.
“I am just coming back from the burial. It is a sad day for members of his family and the entire FRSC family, “the sector commander said.

A 30-yr old senior pastor nabbed for impregnating two teenage sisters

A 30-yr old senior pastor nabbed for impregnating two teenage sisters

A 30-year-old pastor has been nabbed by the police for impregnating two primary school siblings aged 15 and 17 years respectively.

The senior Pastor of Unabii Christian Church, Kenya, Alfred Maingi Ndolo, was arrested after the two orphaned girls who lived with their grandmother, disclosed that they had both been having sexual relationships with the pastor and were pregnant.

Kenyan News Agency reports that the grandmother reported the matter to the Police, and the suspect was arrested as investigations were launched.

The girls’ grandmother said they were lured into the ‘unholy alliance’ by the pastor who was a frequent visitor to their house as a ‘spiritual advisor’ to the girls.

The girls subsequently frequented his church.

She said, “I never suspected anything until early this week when I noticed that the physique of the 15-year-old girl had changed and she was withdrawn.

“However, my questioning did not yield much and I opted to take them to a nearby health centre for medical checkup, where I was told that both of them were pregnant.”

According to the report, as the police were recording statements from the girls at Ngoliba police station, the 17-year-old developed labour pains and was rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital where she delivered a baby girl through Caesarian section.

Thika East Deputy OCPD, Zipporah Nderitu, confirmed the development to the newspaper, saying that the suspect was being held for the alleged crime and that he would be arraigned in court to answer to the defilement charges.

“We will call for DNA test and lock in the suspect for good, as he is said to have committed a similar offence seven years ago in Oldonyo Sabuk and served his full term in prison,” she said.

You must declare armed herdsmen terrorist group – Sagay tells FG
The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption (PACAC), Itse Sagay, has revealed what government ought to do to stop herdsmen/farmers’ clash.

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption (PACAC), Itse Sagay, has revealed what government ought to do to stop herdsmen/farmers’ clash.

According to him, the Federal Government should first brand killer-herdsmen a terrorist group then increase its fire-power in Benue State as a way of stalling further attack on innocent citizens by armed herdsmen.

In an interview with Vanguard, Prof. Sagay said: “My take on the herdsmen-farmer clash is that the Federal Government should now increase its fire power in Benue state and other trouble spots, because these armed terrorists are people who have no fear of any form of government, government’s reaction or position; they have no respect for the sanctity of life. These are just animals, wild animals. They are not better than jackals and animals in the forest. They don’t have any human emotion at all.

“The only thing they fear is if you come with fire power, you kill a few of them and the rest will run away.

“I think, with the military being brought into it and their moving into those forests, we are going to see a very sharp drop in their criminal actions.

“I absolutely agree that armed-herdsmen are a terrorist group, as far as I am concerned. What their objective is, if they have any, is to terrify the population, to kill innocent people, frighten them and make them submissive and totally broken. Yes, they are a terrorist group.”

"State policing a way out of internal security challenges" - Retired DIG

"State policing a way out of internal security challenges" - Retired DIG

Rtd DIG Udom Ekpoudom
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Udom Ekpoudom (retd), has aligned himself with the demand by state governors for the establishment of state police, saying it was the only way out of the prevailing internal security challenges in the country.

Ekpoudom made his position known while interacting with members of the State Working Committee, SWC, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council, in his office.

He said he was aligning with the position by the 36
state governors because it is the best way of addressing the rising internal security challenges bedeviling the nation in recent times.

The former police boss explained that since state governors are constitutionally empowered to create and manage internal security in their states, they will be able to identify flash points easily and deal with them promptly before they escalate.

“If we have state police in all the states of the federation, it will allow indigenes of the states to be recruited into the force and remain in the state to tackle security challenges that may arise,” he said.
