Champions League: Klopp Reveals Injured Salah State

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has revealed what injured player, Mohamed Salah told him concerning his injury after the stunning 3-0 bashing of Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final first leg on Wednesday.

The Egyptian scored his 38th goal of the season to help Liverpool clinch a 3-0 win at Anfield but hobbled off in the second-half.

He was seen holding his groin before being assessed by the medical team and headed straight down the tunnel.

The 25-year-old later returned to sit with his teammates on the bench.

Liverpool play rivals Everton on Saturday, before travelling to the Etihad for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Asked whether Salah suffered a groin injury against City, Klopp told BT Sport, “I hope not… he said to me immediately after the game: ‘all fine, all good’.

“I hope that’s the case, we need to wait and hope.”

Champions League: Pep Guardiola Reacts To Manchester City 3-0 Loss To Liverpool

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has pointed out his tactical decision as the reason they lost to Liverpool in their Champions League quarter-final clash.

Guardiola made a big decision ahead of kick-off with former Liverpool winger, Raheem Sterling left on the bench and Ilkay Gundogan handed a start at Anfield.

The move, however, backfired, as Jurgen Klopp’s men scored three first-half goals without reply, to take a commanding first-leg lead.

After the match, Guardiola told reporters he was looking for “more passing, more control” with the inclusion of Gundogan.

Asked if it worked, he replied: “We lost three zero.”

Guardiola added: “Nobody believes we will go through. We will convince ourselves tomorrow.”

Champions League: Despite Liverpool 3-0 Win Over Manchester City, Klopp Is Not Happy

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, says he is not completely happy despite their 3-0 win over Manchester City  in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

Mohammed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane scored for the Reds, as they recorded an emphatic first-leg win at Anfield.

Klopp claims it was not the result he expected and also lamented injuries to Salah and captain Jordan Henderson.

“The result is not what we expected but we needed to play more football in the second half.

“They did not have a lot of chances but we didn’t play much football ourselves. It is only half-time. 3-0 up, good.

“First half was brilliant. It was how football should look. We knew about the quality of City but also about our quality as well. If we could control the game better against a team like Man City and not give the ball away we would be closer to them in the league.

“We defended the passes really good. But I wanted us to play more football. But I am not angry it is all good.

“We lose one player to injury (Mo Salah) and another – the captain (Jordan Henderson) – to a yellow card so it does not feel good. Mo said he feels good but we will have to see about that.

“If we want to see games like this them the Premier League have to think about the fixtures. It should be something good (the game against Everton) and not cause problems.

“We have to find players now for what a lot of people say is the biggest game of the season. I do not feel good about this right now. If I don’t play my best XI against Everton then we know what happens,” Klopp told BT Sport.
