Neymar is no capable to captain Ligue 1 club - PSG manager Tuchel

 

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said Neymar is not of the “profile” to captain the side, after the Brazil superstar scored one and assisted another in their 2-1 win away at Angers in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Neymar, playing in his final PSG match of the season before his three-game suspension for an altercation with a spectator during the Coupe de France final kicks in, opened the scoring with a diving header and teed up Angel Di Maria for another headed effort.

After the game, Tuchel was asked what it takes for the 27-year-old to wear the PSG armband in the future, and he replied, “No [on Neymar being a future PSG captain], we have two captains in Thiago Silva and Marquinhos – we will not be changing that.”

“For me, Neymar does not have the profile to be a captain with the armband.

“He is a technical leader through his creativity, but he is not an armband-wearing captain. It is not necessary that he wears it and I do not understand why everybody is suddenly speaking about this.

“We must be respectful — we have Thiago and Marquinhos, who are fantastic,” Tuchel added

Ligue1: Enyama Must Step Up To Return To Main Team - Lille Manager, Galtier

Ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has been given condition to return to Lille’s first team.

Lille manager Christophe Galtier, said the Nigerian must step up his work rate and return to full form in order to be reintegrated into the main team.

Asked about the player’s form the manager said, ‘’It’s a reflection I had and I still have.”

“He has not played for a year at this level. He is still handicapped in relation to his injury (knee) and many things he cannot do,’’ Galtier told reporters.

Enyeama has only played two matches for the reserve team of Lille and his last appearance was on March 24 against Viry Châtillon.

In a bid to step up his fitness, Enyeama requested that he should play matches for the reserve team, which competes in the National 2, only at home.
